We are seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to join our Docent team as a Bilingual Spanish-Speaking Docent. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing the visitor experience by providing engaging and educational tours in both English and Spanish.

Position Summary:

A Docent at Shoreline Sightseeing provides a live narration of Shoreline Sightseeing’s 75-minute Architecture tours. The ideal candidate for a guide has excellent public speaking skills and is able to quickly learn the required information given on the tour. Ideally, candidates will have prior guide or docent experience. As a direct representation of the company, this role requires the development of timely and effective communication to provide the best possible experience to all residents and visitors. It is especially desirable for a guide to have qualities that would allow them to improvise during a tour in addition to conveying accurate information in a way that is both educational and entertaining.

Duties Include:

  • Engage, impress and move residents and visitors to create a memorable experience aboard a Shoreline vessel
  • Ability to create your own tour script by synthesizing the mountain of information that will be made available to you
  • Study and learn historical and architectural facts needed to present multiple 75-minute live outdoor tours daily
  • Interact with passengers during and after tours
  • Endurance to offer three to six tours a day
  • Work with Marine crew to ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers
  • Promote all available amenities and products Shoreline Sightseeing provides


Requirements for the job include

  • Fluency in both English and Spanish, with excellent verbal communication skills in both languages
