Job Summary: The Georgene Kauth O’Dwyer Memorial Internship has been established to preserve the community history of Batavia, Illinois and to offer emerging museum professionals valuable skills practice in curation and collections management.

Georgene Kauth O’Dwyer was an early supporter of the Batavia Historical Society and cared deeply about preserving history for the next generations. There’s so many wonderful stories about Batavia.” Georg dedicated years of loyal volunteerism as a planner and coordinator, a front-line museum worker and board member of the Historical Society. Her volunteer work in the community was broad and she was recognized for her remarkable contributions to the social and civic life of Batavia with the Batavia Citizen of the Year award in 2018.
