Essential Function and Responsibility:
The AV Technician and Service Desk Specialist role is focused primarily on AV and meeting room support. Secondarily, the role provides basic computer, network and technical troubleshooting. This role utilizes an escalation path to senior team members within the Technology Department Operations Team (referred to as TDOT) when no solution is presently available. This position supports meeting room setups, scheduled in advance, that use various laptop, tablet, television, and audio-visual equipment by working as a member of the Service Desk team, and other teams within the Information Technology department. This position will also be responsible for basic troubleshooting of network issues, in addition to basic computer setup and support.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and/or two to four (2-4) years audio-visual set-up, troubleshooting, maintenance, install/de-install experience.
Operational knowledge of Audio Systems, including live mixing and sound support.
Operational knowledge of Video Systems, including projectors, monitors, and video signal distribution.
Operational knowledge of phone systems and troubleshooting, for conference calls.
Operational knowledge of basic network support.
Operational knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Office, Google apps, and various video meeting platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams).
Troubleshooting experience on both Windows and Mac operating systems.
Ability to operate audio-video control systems, such as; Midas, AMX or Creston.
Ability to conduct yourself professionally in a meeting environment.
Strong Customer Service Background
Ability to interpret space drawings.
Must be able to move/lift computer equipment, electronic equipment, and furniture on wheels as needed.
Must be able to use ladders, operate personnel scissors and mast lifts when trained.
Strong communication and collaboration skills working as a team with other departments.
Supervision Received:
Receives general supervision by the Helpdesk Supervisor
Supervision Exercised:
The position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Hours and Shift:
Hours are typically Monday - Friday 8am-4pm with occasional before, after or weekend hours required. Usually scheduled in advance.

Pay Range: $27.50 - $29.00 per hour
